The portraits depicted here are part of the project, «Le Bonheur», which commenced in October 2005. This project sees HOIO engaged in a hunt for «culinary bliss». In the course of short conversations with a diverse group of passers-by and sympathisers, HOIO’s chief executive Samuel Herzog adeptly ferrets out the culinary favourite of each individual. At the end of the informal interview, Herzog gets his interviewee to participate in a little exercise: s/he has to concentrate - with eyes shut, naturally - on the food item that makes her/him most happy. The individual is photographed during the exercise. Then s/he is requested to select the picture that s/he likes best from amongst the photos taken during the penultimate session, and this photograph goes on to be published on the HOIO website.
